Has anyone tried hypnosis pease? With what results? I’d be interested in hearing of any treatment which seems to have had a measure of success, however unlikely sounding or anecdotal. Thank you.

Regarding hypnosis:  after an 12-year remission, I went into what I consider a second cycle of KLS (I have never been diagnosed and didn’t discover the syndrome until 2008).  The second cycle was brought on by a personal shock and I could feel myself going down.  This may sound silly, but it was almost like a seduction, I couldn’t resist it.  The second cycle was different than the first in several ways that I won’t go into here, however, a psychiatrist diagnosed me as MPD and tried hypnosis to try to get in touch with alters.  No luck really, possibly because there were no alters in the traditional sense.  I had several diagnoses and during this second cycle and I was getting more and more frustrated.  One day, while browsing in my husband’s “library”, I came across a book on self-hypnosis that suggested if you didn’t know what was wrong with you, your subconscious does and you can ask it.  I followed the instructions in the book and managed to put myself into what I assume was a state of self-hypnosis.  Well, I didn’t have a chance to ask the subconscioius anything, rather several entities contacted me.  This happened several times over a period of months and I kept records of all the communications and “personalities”.  There were several different types of entities and I assume that articles and books from drs. treating MPD who report that their patients have many to dozens of different personalities including angels and so on were actually tapping into this level of the client’s “brain”.  These encounters with entities was a much different experience than having alters and amnesia (I do not feel I have alters or amnesia).  Anyrate, the medication prescribed to thwart MPD didn’t work at all and certainly didn’t work on the entitites.  A different psychiatrist decided I was psychotic and prescribed Mellaril (I need to look up the spelling of this drug).  After a few weeks on Mellaril, an entity contacted me and asked that I stop taking the drug as it was making some of them very ill (this was interesting in that, up until that point, I had always controlled the contacts).  I have not made any attempt to hypnotize myself or contact entities in several years mostly because I have no idea what good it does, I mean, it didn’t change the symptoms of KLS.  The short story here is that I feel the experiences were quite real but I have no idea how to talk about them and believe me, don’t ever try to talk about it to a psychiatrist because you will be mocked and told there is no such thing, that it is only another manifestation of mental illness.  Sigh!  I’m sure your experience will be different and it will be interesting to hear of any progress.  Thanks for bringing up this subject.
