Be sure to watch the dramatization of the real-life story of one of our KLS families who live in Simi Valley, near Los Angeles, CA. It will feature Brian and his mom, Cindy who is a nurse. It will air on Aug 8 at 10 p.m.(EST) and Aug 9 at 1 a.m. (EST). Check your local listings for when it airs
in your area. IMPORTANT NOTE!!!!!!! Brian Kime has a pre-existing condition regarding low blood pressure. Please be sure to know that low blood pressure IS NOT an ailment of KLS!!!

Lori, I think it was this episode that my neighbor saw which informed us about KLS and led to the diagnosis for my son.  Up until that time it was a mystery often passed off as some sort of depression. grin

I have been searching and hoping to see that episode of Mystery Diagnosis.  Is there a way to put it on the KLS site like the other videos?!?!

I just wrote to Discovery Health to see if they would donate a video of that episode to the foundation to post.  It does not appear to be available for purchase or download and it is over two years old so I would hope they may be willing to do this

I wish they would include a video on adults with KLS.  I don’t get the baby talk or the sexual stuff but can’t focus, very groggy and feel very drugged up in the times I’m up between episodes.  Plus, the eating is much worse as I’m 44 and my metabislm is not as active.  My first cluster of episodes was 6 years ago; I went from 130 lbs to 185 in a few months.  This time I went from 172 to 210 in just a few months.  The teens don’t experience this due to a faster and more activce metabilsm.  Also, after episodes, when I feel normal again, I can’t just get up and go like they do.  After several months in bed with full and partial episodes, my muscles are so weak and my appitite is really big due to all the eating between episodes.  My episodes are ending and I’m newly diaganoised and just starting Ridilin which helps some with the appatite but doesn’t really give me the energy to get up and moving.  Depression sets in, again.  Going back to work Monday after a month of short term disabiltiy and not sure if I can make thru the days.  My Dr. was very reluctant to give me the month.  Before that it was several days of FMLA which I don’t get paid for those missed days.  I wish they would make a video and post more info on adults.

I actually do know a girl (earlt 20’s now but has KLS since a teenager) and she gains 10-15 lbs an episode from the eating.  I get real hungry sometimes, but living alone, I end up eating nothing some days.
