Can KLS progress to Pick Disease or Altzheimer’s Disease? When I look back over my history, my first episodes were probably around 14 continuing periodically until I was 24. At 24, I had surgery and woke up as a complete child. I was on SSI for approximately seven years, and then after a kind of half-and-half one-year + period of recovery, I was finally KLS symptom free. As soon as I was able to work, I got a job and continued to live a “normal” life for the next 12+ years. A personal shock brought on a new cycle of KLS (at 46). However, this time, I was better able to cope and managed somehow to keep working long enough to be vested. Like the first cycle, the episodes were bunched at the beginning with a period of remission toward the end. However, this time, the remission was not quite so complete. I recently had new episode in what may be a third cycle (64). If so, I am concerned that each cycle produces damage that is in the end cumulative and more widespread. I ask about Pick Disease because it has some overlaping symptoms with KLS and during the second cycle of my own experience, much to my surprize, I became a successful art student although I have never particularly had an ambition to be an artist. In fact a few months ago after earning over 100 credits in studio art at both community college and state university, I just completely lost interest. In addition, coping with the demands of upper division courses (not just term papers, but the physical labor) has almost become too much. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
