PROVIGIL WORKED for me !!!!!!! ...for 2 and a half days. Then mysteriously stopped.

It COMPLETELY removed my symptoms, MID-EISODE, in 11 minutes.

It worked for 10 hours the first day. It worked for 8 hours the second day.

The THIRD day, I woke up achey, but OTHERWISE symptom free. I got my menstrual cycle (my period) that day. I thought THAT was why I was achey. THEN AT 2:30 pm, MY SYMPTOMS CAME RUSHING BACK LIKE A FLOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Third day was YESTERDAY.

HAS ANYONE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE???????.....thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter has been on provigil for the past 2yrs now and it has helped her. although she recently started menses inJan. this year and has had an episode RIGHT after the periods have ended. She has only had 5 periods so far with 2 being in the month of Sept. and had heavy uterine bleeding and therefore was hospitalized. she is now in another episode - the 2nd one within a month! I think her estrogen levels are playing a part in this but I don’t know if the medication is affecting her since she is on high levels of estrogen therapy now as well or what is going on. I guess we will wait this out. Have you tried Provigil after this episode?? i really do believe you need to give it a longer try to see if it will work at all and have any other effects.

Provigil helps my daughter in general, especially in conjunction with all the other things she is on. But during an episode—she can—and does—sleep right through it.

Even before the other things though, we saw it does help the episodes be shorter, less frequent, and the recovery period was faster (shorter). At least, that is what we observed.

I was placed on Nuvigil/Provigil about a year ago…didn’t do much for me.  Was just recently taken off of it… with no difference being on or off it.  Never affected my menstrual cycle (but mine are irregular and have history of cysts anyways).  I have noticed I sometimes skip my period when I get a bad episode and haven’t eaten in days (I live alone and finding help if few and far between), so maybe due to lack of nutrition/dehydration.
