do you know any doctors on the east coast whom may be able to help? 2 of my previous doctors quit. They said the stress of not being able to help me was worst than anything they’ve been thru. My situation has gotten worse and I need a doctor that can help me because right now, I have no insurance and the Neurologist i’m seeing is really no help. All he does is ask me a few questions, ask if I’ve had an episode and give me Ritalin 20mg. I need a doctor that can help. Let me know if you can help. Thank you.

We traveled to see a doctor (endocrinologist).  Now we go about every 1.5 years.  The best thing he did was 2.5 days of tests. That in turn helped local doctors. Also, he was not afraid to try things. At that point she felt she had little to lose. Her life was slipping away. He found some obvious problems affecting energy (like central hypothyroidism), uncovered an intestinal malabsorption issue (and osteoporosis) and found puzzling stuff which took some years to unravel (like weird B12 and folate levels).

A local GP acted as a conductor of an orchestra of doctors. She still has short sleep episodes but at least the severe “mental illness” she’d been diagnosed with disappeared, and she does feel better and she is healthier. It’d be wonderful if I could say she has no more sleep issues, but I can’t. But we’ll take the “feeling better” in general!

This is a stressful disorder!!
