International Pediatric Sleep Association (IPSA) teamed up with Patient Support Groups to host a unique outward educational forum for patients and their families in Manchester UK.

The programme ran on Wednesday, 5th December 2012 when the morning session was devoted to Narcolepsy and the afternoon session to Kleine-Levin Syndrome.

IPSA -2012 is pleased to use the platform of this international congress to bring the latest in scientific and medical advances direct to those who have the greatest interest in the work.

We are delighted to have the enthusiastic support of medical researchers from world leading centres in both Europe and the USA. Speakers include Dr Isabelle Arnulf from Paris who has published a systematic review of over 100 patients with Kleine Levin syndrome and the Stanford University team headed up by Professor Emanuel Mignot. Professor Mignot is internationally recognized as having discovered the cause of narcolepsy and directs the Stanford Center for Narcolepsy. His group is also conducting research into the genetics of Kleine Levin syndrome.

Each session will provide an exciting opportunity to hear the latest research news relevant to these conditions as well as a forum to meet patients and their families living with these conditions. The will be ample time for networking and the conference organisers are planning these sessions jointly with the KLS Support UK and the Narcolepsy UK support groups.
